Curse of the Deathless
Aspect of the Graveknight
Shadows veil what lurks within the dark, imposing armor of this figure, though two piercing eyes gaze from its closed visor.
When a Deathless takes on their Graveknight Aspect Form, their body is replaced by a fearsome-looking set of armour of black and gold. Distinguishable from other Graveknights due to the fact their eyes glow an unearthly green and the fact their armour always looks new and polished rather that just dug up. While in this form the Deathless has Damage Resistance (see below) as well as access to special abilities (again, see below). When in this form the Graveknight-Aspected Deathless gains a Armour Training 2 ability (see Fighter) Their armour is technically their skin, offering improved protection (see below) and their Aspect Form causes Fear (as per the spell) to those who look upon it (this is an innate, constant passive effect).
Aspect Damage Resistance: DR 10 / Cold Iron
Whenever you are in your Aspect Form you can use this ability
When in their Aspect form, the armour that makes up the Deathless Graveknight’s body grants +4 Natural Armour. This is in addition to any AC bonuses they might possess.
Great Curse: A Graveknight-Aspected Deathless constantly feels the need to fight, to bathe themselves in their enemies’ blood. When confronted with a situation where there is an opportunity to resolve the situation with violence, a Graveknight must succeed a Will save (DC 20) to not begin to attack immediately. A Graveknight Deathless cannot refuse a challenge to a one-on-one fight, and they cannot flee from combat (even if under a fear-enducing ability or spell the Graveknight Deathless cannot flee once engaged in combat).
2nd Tier Physical Alteration: Though they are not aware of it, the Graveknight Deathless becomes much less expressive in their facial movements, seeming uncaring or emotionless at times. The character suffers a -1 to Bluff and Diplomacy checks if seen in clear lighting. This alteration can be covered up by simple means such as the Performance or Disguise skill.
4thTier Physical Alteration: The Deathless no longer shows any outward emotion at all. While they might be screaming with rage on the inside, their faces remain calm and composed, indifferent to everything around them. The character suffers a -2 to Bluff, Diplomacy and Disguise skills, it cannot be disguised by normal methods, only magical.
8th Tier Physical Alteration: Any armour that the character wears immediately latches to the Graveknight, boring metal spikes into the joints which bleed yet do not cause the Graveknight discomfort. As well as this, the character gives off a feeling of dread to those close around them. The character suffers a -2 to Bluff, Diplomacy, Disguise, and Handle Animal skills.
Aspect Powers: At 1st tier and every tier thereafter, select one new aspect power from the Graveknight-Aspect Powers list. Once you select a power, it can’t be changed. Unless otherwise noted, each power can be selected only once. Some abilities have requirements, such as a class ability or minimum Deathless tier, that you must meet before you select them.
1st Tier Graveknight-Aspect Powers:
You can select these aspect abilities at any tier.
Supernatural Strength (Su)
When the Deathless shifts into their Aspect form their Strength Score increases by +4. This is a passive ability and costs no Deathless points to activate. This Power can be selected up to 2 times.
Parrying Confidence (Ex)
The Deathless can parry a melee attack as if he had the Parry Combat Feat. He does this without the need to fight defensively and gains a +5 bonus to his CMD to resolve the Parry. This is a passive ability and costs no Deathless points to activate. If a Deathless that selects this power already has Parry as a feet, their bonus to CMD increases to +8.
Supernatural Constitution (Su)
When the Deathless shifts into their Aspect form their Constitution Score increases by +4. This is a passive ability and costs no Deathless points to activate. This Power can be selected up to 2 times.
Phantom Mount (Su)
Once per hour, a graveknight can summon a skeletal horse similar to a phantom steed. This mount is more real than a typical phantom steed, and can carry one additional rider. The mount’s powers are based on the graveknight’s total Hit Dice rather than caster level. A graveknight’s mount looks distinctive and always appears the same each time it is summoned. If the mount is destroyed, it can be summoned again with full hit points 1 hour later. This power costs no Deathless points to activate, however imbuing it with a Deathless point increases the creatures movement speed by +10 and also doubles its hit point.
Channel Destruction (Su)
Any weapon a Graveknight-Aspect Deathless wields seethes with energy, and deals an additional 1d6 points of acid damage for every 4 Hit Dice the Deathless has. This is a passive effect and costs no Deathless points to use.
Channel Resistance (Su)
The Graveknight Deathless is granted a +4 to their Will Save to resist Channelled energy while in their Aspect Form. This is a passive ability and costs no Deathless points to activate.
Too Tough, Too Fast (Ex)
The Graveknight Deathless yearns for battle. When in his Aspect Form he gains the Improved Initiative and Toughness Feats. If the character has these Feats already, the effects double. This is a passive ability and cost no Deathless power to activate.
Once per day and at the cost of 2 Deathless points, a Graveknight Deathless once reduced to 0 HP or less (but not dead) can ‘shake off’ his injuries and come back into the fight with renewed vigour. Upon activation of this power (which can even be used unconscious as a reflexive action), the Deathless regains exactly 50% of his total HP and removes any conditions.
Resistant to Cold (Su)
The Deathless gains Cold Resistance 10 while in Aspect Form. This is a passive ability and costs no Deathless Points to activate.
The Deathless gets a +2 to bonus to Will saves against any abilities originating from Goodly-Aligned casters or spells that have the Good descriptor. This is a passive ability and costs no Deathless Points to activate.
The Dead Have Nothing To Fear (Su)
Since the time of their death and rebirth, Deathless look upon life differently and are more difficult to intimidate let alone scare. The Deathless who takes this power gets a +5 bonus to Will saves vs Intimidation or any fear effects. This is a passive ability and costs no Deathless Points to activate.
The Graveknight-Aspect Deathless is an unnerving looking creature in its Aspect Form, but this one even more so. Their movements become erratic and jarring to look at, granting the Deathless a +5 bonus to any Intimidation rolls they might take. In addition, Intimidate becomes a class skill regardless of form. This is a passive ability and costs no Deathless Points to activate.
